Our Backyard Feast from Farm
A fantastic lakeside location, a perfect early fall day and lots of great food and music.
That pretty well sums up Our Backyard Feast from Farm, held September 28 in Tweed’s Memorial Park.
Here’s the idea. Take a local food producer, pair them with a chef, and let people taste what they come up with. We were lucky to be twinned with our good friend Stev from Olivea, who prepared Italian-style pulled beef on a bun with provolone using our blade roast. We handed out the recipe to anyone who was interested, and we had the blades there for sale too, along with ribeyes, flat irons and sirloins. Oh, and jerky just to change it up! It wasn’t all beef of course—the enthusiastic crowd also sampled fantastic wine, beer, veg, pork, baked goods, preserves and maple syrup – all wonderfully local.
